 Hi JK Parents and Friends!

We finished our Dr. Seuss theme by reading My Many Colored Days and talked about how emotions can be represented through color.  They all agreed if anger was a color it would be red!  Red is also the color that makes you most hungry, hence many kitchens being painted red.

We learned about the Great Artist Monet.  The children studied his life and art, and painted their own Water Lily paintings with water colors.  We studied other artists and read many non fiction and fiction books, and talked about changing the time of day/night along with seasons to make pictures look different and to reflect what the artist is painting.  Our mystery reader was Emily, and Jayden was incredibly excited to see his mom!  She read about rainbows which was perfect for our St. Patty's Day theme.

Monday brought a flurry of snow just as we were coming in from the play ground.  We turned on the fireplace app and snuggled up for rest time watching and listening to music and the sounds of the fire.  Spring will be here soon but this week certainly looked like winter!

St. Patrick's Day was a lovely celebration with our leprechaun outsmarting our trap but loving the pictures and Lucky Charms and green milk we left for him.  Thank you for all of the WONDERFUL treats!

Science and Math

We conducted an experiment with gold flecks, vinegar and baking soda.  What fun to make an acid and base explode into beautiful pots of gold!

We celebrated another wonderful five year old-Benjamin!

Have a lovely week!
