Hi JK Parents!

We jumped into Kindergarten Ready theme this week, talking about everything we have done this year to prepare the students for a successful year in Kindergarten and visiting the K room to tour and prepare for next year.

We chalked the middle school entrance sending our kind messages for those home sick or having school remotely.  JK Bunnies went dandelion picking and had a lovely field trip around the school today.  We loved spending so much time outside playing with friends and enjoying our amazing campus!

Literacy:

JK wrote letters to someone writing to people we want to thank for being kind to us, and addressed envelopes to mail.  We learned about the postal system and the important components of addressing an envelope so it will get to it's intended destination.  We delivered the letters to the faculty lounge mail boxes.  We are spreading kindness!

We practiced identifying sight words in print and read E-Mergency.  It was fun to replace all of the Ee's with different vowels.  We realized it is quite difficult to speak without using Ee!

We read stories about Kindergarten and what it will be like, and answered questions and talked about any worries the children have about next year.  They are so excited to be in Kinder!  We loved our visit to the K class!

Math & Science:

We experimented with colors and mixed primary colors to make different combinations of colors using the color wheel.  We matched colors outside with the colors we are using in our paintings.  We have been finding many insects and have loved exploring nature this week.

The children are learning to play strategic games, and love Sequence.  We are discussing strategy as well as sportsmanship.

Fine Motor:

JK decorated end of year portfolios with beautiful pictures.  In French class they learned the different words for clothing pieces and decorated books.

The children jumped rope as we celebrated "Jj" day.  Thank you to Eva and Mrs. and Mr. Smith for the terrific jumpropes!  They came up with amazing games using ropes and created a train of children, a limbo, a spider web, etc.  We have loved all of the fun themed days!

Have a great weekend!
