What a lovely week it has been! We have been studying the wonderful Dr. Seuss!
Stacking ourselves like Yurtle the Turtle did!
Math & Science:
The children counted Truffala Tree balls and practiced writing their numbers on different Dr. Seuss themed pictures. We are fine tuning our numbers and practicing counting to 100 as a class in a circle, each sounding off as we go around the room.
Fine Motor:
We made March calendars by decorating shamrocks and writing words that are March themed. We also made Thing 1 or Thing 2 pictures and dictated a story of what we would do if Thing 1 and Thing 2 came to visit. The children sounded out and wrote rhyming words. We watched and read the story of the Sneetches, and decorated Sneetches with stars, collars, rhyming words and eyes. What amazing lessons we have learned through Dr. Seuss.
Literacy:
We are learning to repeat syllable patterns and sounding out the vowel sounds in the middle of words, as we read in our group! We are working with rhyming words and using stretchy snake to sound out words to write when we label our artwork and journal pages!
Have a lovely weekend!
Ms. Massey
